Nineteen students graduated yesterday from an ecological and sanitation training centre in Rumbek, Lakes State.

This is the second batch of graduants since the St. Peter Clever Ecological Training Centre opened two years ago.

Fr. Georges Kimonge, who runs the institution, told Good News Radio that the centre offers two courses in solar energy and electricity and water and basic construction.

Graduated Benjamin Madding Mayor appealed to the Government to recognize the institution and give job opportunities to the students who completed the course.

He assured the Government that the students from the Centre were competitive, competent and with a lot of potential to contribute to the development of the communities.

Lone female graduated Monica Abeng Mariel encouraged her sisters to join the training and take up the challenge to learn how to fix water pumps.

She added that women are the ones who suffer when boreholes are not working and they have to fetch water from far.

St. Peter Claver Ecological and Sanitation Training Centre will reopen in July with a new batch of students.

The Jesuits run the institution.
