The hotels earmarked to lodge guests and visitors for the Independence celebrations will be ready before July 9.

The Government has reserved 2,000 rooms in Juba hotels to accommodate some 1,500 invited guests and some places need to be renovated.

Juba Mayor Mohammed Alhaj Baballa told Bakhita Radio that the capital will have reasonable hotels to accommodate guests by the middle of June.

He said the authorities have checked most hotels and prepared a list of improvements on sanitation, sewage, kitchens and surroundings.

Mayor Baballa added that the South Sudan independence was already marked by the referendum results which were announced four months ago.

He said that the nine of July is the ceremonial day to share the celebration with visitors from difference countries.
