GoSS Council of Ministers yesterday failed to reach consensus on commodities shortages and the passport for the Republic of South Sudan.

These were the two main issues on yesterday’s Cabinet agenda.

Presidential Affairs Minister Cirino Hitang told journalists yesterday that Commerce and Industry Minister Stephen Dhieu Dau presented a paper about the shortage of food and other commodities caused by road blocks in North Sudan.

The Cabinet considered the attitude of Khartoum that is not allowing the supply of food and fuel from the North a threat to the people of South Sudan ahead of the independence celebrations.

The Cabinet is waiting for resolutions from the committee working on the passport to approve the document.
