Eastern Equatoria state government maintains its stand on continued enforcement of the orders restricting armed forces moving with guns in Torit town.

Deputy governor Nartisio Manir Loluke commended the organized forces for following the orders but insisted it is still effective.

Mr. Loluke noted that Eastern Equatoria and South Sudan at large have lost lots of lives during the liberation struggle adding that the region should not lose anymore lives.

The comments of the deputy governor follow the state Council of ministers that passed an order that nobody should move with guns in Torit town except on duty.

Members of the organized forces are also instructed not to go home with guns but to leave their weapons at their places of work.
