Traders in Rumbek Town have pledged financial contributions to Lakes State to help in the preparations for Independence Day on July 9th.

The traders reached the resolution on their financial pledges at a meeting in Rumbek town on Saturday morning, May 7 2011.
Speaking to Good News Radio, the Secretary General of Rumbek Traders Union, Christopher Tabu, said that his colleagues are happy to make financial contributions to make the Independence Day a success.
Mr. Tabu also said that the gathering suggested some figures, revealing that depending on each trader’s stock and ability, one will be expected to contribute between 20 and 150 Sudanese Pounds.

Mr. Tabu noted that their decision was a response to the request from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Lakes State following a deficit in the Independence Day celebration budget.

All traders in Lakes State are expected to contribute towards the organization of State Independence Day celebration.
