The International Monetary Fund will this month discuss Sudan’s foreign debt, said the African Union panel chief.

Addressing the press today, Thabo Mbeki said the IMF and creditors will discuss what to do with the debt of the country.

The meeting will be attended by representatives from SPLM and NCP.

Last month, the two parties agreed to write a joint letter to Sudan’s creditors seeking debt relief.

IMF said that Sudan’s foreign debt was expected to hit 40 billion Us dollars in 2011.
