Mboribamu Baabe Renzi is now the paramount chief of Tombura County, replacing his father, Samuel Baabe Renzi Tombura, who died on 31 March 2005, SCR News correspondent reported.
Mr. Renzi urged Western Equatoria state and government of South Sudan to recognize the powers of chiefs and cooperate with them in building the nation.
He further noted that the powers of the chiefs must be recognized by the government, adding that the latter should work hard to support and maintain the local culture.
Mr. Renzi also said the Azande chiefs want to revive the Azande Kingdom, which was destroyed during the British colonial rule after the death of King Gbudue in 1905.
