HIV AND AIDS STRATEGIC PLANNING WORKSHOP KICKS OFF IN RUMBEK

A strategic planning workshop focusing on the HIV and Aids pandemic kicked off in Rumbek, on Wednesday.

The four-day training targeted leaders from the five dioceses of the Episcopal Church of Sudan (ECS) within Lakes State.

Speaking to Good News Radio, CHAS deputy team leader David Juma Augustine said that the workshop focused on strategic planning with regard to HIV and Aids awareness campaign.

Mr. Juma reiterated the active participation and open sharing of the 36 individuals who have turned up for the workshop.

The participants shared some of the challenges their communities experience, including diseases, infrastructural underdevelopment, lack of agricultural skills and means of productivity, lack of socio-economic empowerment, illiteracy, and moral issues.

In its mission statement, CHAS exists “to strengthen the capacity of its members in the provision of health services in partnership with communities and the concerned Ministry of Health, for all the people of Sudan.”
