The SPLM five-day economic workshop resolved to prioritize education and develop human resource capacity to discourage South Sudanese from politics and the military.

Gabriel Alaak, SPLM secretary for the finance, told the participants at the workshop that human resources development contributes to production.

He added that war produced too many military and politicians in South Sudan and it was time to demilitarize and depoliticize the region.

Mr. Alaak added that the workshop noticed the lack of a local specialized working force in South Sudan.

He said the workshop discussed ways to encourage South Sudanese to take more manual jobs following the lead of workers from abroad.

Mr. Alaak appealed for a political will from the government to implement the resolutions from the workshop.

The workshop proposed Elijah Malok to be the president o the new Central Bank of South Sudan.
