The deployment of security forces along the Camp 15-Chukudum Road has brought a relative calm to the area after last month’s a fatal attack that killed five members of the same family.
However, many more forces are needed to bring security along the road that covers a vast isolated land without villages.Peter Bosco Lotyang, an MP representing Budi County at the state assembly, told Emmanuel Radio that the county commissioner put more police patrols on the road and since mid February and the highway attacks stopped.
Culture Minister Magdalene Beato, who survived an attack in the same road, said Budi is a good place.
She added that the problem is that very spot where some attacks took place.
On February 14 gunmen attacked a vehicle killing five lives.
It was the third road attack in two weeks at that spot.
On February 6, two police officers were shot dead on patrol four days after two catholic priests survived an armed ambush with minor injuries.
