A Yei clinic started a week-long eye surgery operation yesterday following the arrival of a surgeon from Juba on Wednesday.
Martha Clinic administrator Taban Lawrence told Easter Radio that so far twenty patients were operated suffering from varied eye problems.He added that the turn-up was high and the administration of the clinic expects to have sixty patients operated within the week.
Patients come from Yei River, Morobu and Lainya counties.
Mr. Taban said the eye surgery is free of charge.
Patients pay two to three Sudanese pounds for treatment or drugs.
Mr. Taban urged people with eye problems to take advantage of the remaining five days the surgeon is in Yei.
