Authorities are launching an assessment of health facilities in South Sudan and the survey kicks off on Monday with a team of 29 officials from the ten states.

Lea Muja Ayoub from GoSS Health Ministry told SCR News this morning that the survey will begin in Central and Eastern Equatoria states.

The team will split into two groups to survey the sixteen selected health facilities in both states.

Ms. Muja said that the teams will be sent out on Monday and should report back to Juba within four days so that they can advance to the remaining eight states.

Donald T. Whitson from the Liverpool Associate for Tropical Health said the survey intends to find out how good the facilities are and what quality services they provide.

He added that the survey will help the Ministry of Health to prioritize its activities and spend the money in the best way to provide better services.

The team spent a week of preparation in a workshop organized by GoSS Ministry of Health and Liverpool Associate for Tropical Health in Juba.

The survey is expected to finish in forty five days.
