The Eastern Equatoria government started the process to identify and reintegrate children living on the streets of Torit.

Governor Louis Lobong Lojore launched the programme last Saturday, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Mr. Lobong says the government will continue registering the street kids in order to reintegrate them with their relatives.

He added that the government will also provide some assistance packages to resettle the kids.

Mr. Lobong stressed that the state government will request the parents of the street children and nongovernmental organizations to offer the kids the help they need to cope with life in their new environment.

He called for children’s care, saying parents should offer the necessary help to avoid the influx of children into the town streets.
