A United Kingdom Member of Parliament visited today Juba Technical School where a number of female students are training in mechanics.

Talking to SCR News, Glenny Kinnok said she first heard about the girls on the technical school on the BBC and vowed to visit the institution when she came to South Sudan.

Ms. Kinnok added that her government is concerned about the transition period and how much will be resolved of the post referendum issues before independence.

Nuru Keji Jackson, an automobile mechanics student, said there are few engineers in South Sudan who are mostly men.

She added that in gender classes she learned that what men can do women can do as well and decided to give it a try.

Ms. Kinnock came to South Sudan with a group of UK MPs to study the challenges after the referendum.

The delegation met with the president and other officials.
