Upper Nile agriculture ministry launched a three-month training course for tractor operators in collaboration with the UNDP to boost food production in the state.
Minister Chol Chuli Arop said the project is an answer to the needs for development of the new country of South Sudan, Voice of Love reported.Mr. Arop said the trainees will contribute to food security for the local community.
He added that Upper Nile state has the best record for agricultural production this year in South Sudan.
Mr. Arop urged the trainees to keep the agricultural production growing in the state with the knowledge they will receive during the training.
The course for agricultural tractor operators started yesterday and ends on May 5.
