EASTERN EQUATORIA MINISTER CALLS ON CITIZENS TO FOCUS ON AGRICULTURE

Eastern Equatoria agriculture minister called on his citizens to focus on farming in order to stop hunger and provide food security to the state.

Jerome Gama told Bakhita Radio that agriculture is the backbone of economy of Eastern Equatoria state.

He explained that 65 percent of its population depends on animal resources and the rest on food crops.

Mr. Gama added that people in Eastern Equatoria should concentrate on agriculture to stop importing food and receive aid from the international community.

He added that food security is part of independence.

Mr. Gama said his government would modernize agriculture to upgrade food production in the state.
