The committee entrusted to identify a suitable place for the future federal capital of South Sudan met yesterday with the government of Central Equatoria to disclose the options proposed by the council of ministers two weeks ago.
Ayai Deng Ajack , who heads the review committee, told the press that the state government would report on the results of the proposals next Friday.Mr. Deng explained that the options proposed by government include Juba to be administered exclusively by GoSS with Central Equatoria finding a new capital; any area within the vicinity of Juba or across the river on the East Bank; or Ramshel, in Lakes State, if no land is offered in Juba.
Mr. Ajack concluded that the federal capital for south Sudan has to be located in a place accessible from all areas across the region.
