The University of Juba is delaying the start of the new academic year for one month due to lack of enough lecture halls to accommodate its students.

Vice Chancellor Agrey Abate told SCR News that the opening of the University of Juba was pushed for April in order to give the administration time to finish the building of some lecture rooms.

Professor Abate said the administration of the university is hindered due to inadequate infrastructure.

He added that the administration is trying to finish a complex in the place that was occupied by old Customs market before the new academic year starts.

The Vice Chancellor said the University expanded to twelve colleges and five centres.
