A GoSS minister was killed in his office this morning together with his bodyguard.
Minister for Cooperative and Rural Development Jimmy Lemi Milla was killed by an in-law named Amin who was also his former driver.A young policeman in charge of Mr. Lemi’s security was also killed in the shooting that took place around 11 AM at the ministry in Juba.
Martin Said Andrew, the late minister’s private secretary, told journalists that Mr. Lemi was killed by his own in-law.
A witness said Mr. Amin killed Mr. Lemi with a gun he took after breaking into the minister’s car.
The bodies of the two victims were brought to Juba Teaching Hospital.
The killer was arrested.
Mr. Lemi was new in the GoSS Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development.
He substituted Dr. Anne Itto when she was transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture last August.
