Unknown gun men shot dead two police officers in Budi County, Eastern Equatoria state.
Yesterday’s incidence took place three kilometres from Ngarera, where two Catholic priests were attacked last week, Emmanuel Radio reported.Private Lokuron Komolinga and Sergeant Philip Lokwanyang met their death while patrolling the area with 16 other police officers.
No suspect has been arrested yet.
The remains of the two police officers were taken to Chukudum Hospital.
The deployment of police along the Camp 15ÐChukudum road followed an ambush last Tuesday by six armed men on a car belonging to the Catholic Diocese of Torit.
Fr. Santino Lounoi, the co-ordinator of Emmanuel Radio, sustained minor injuries by shattered glass. His passenger was unhurt.
The six attackers were dressed in military cloths.
