The Church plays a key role in the building of the new nation of South Sudan, and its members should act responsibly as the backbone of the new society.
This is the view Bishop Caesar Mazzolari of Rumbek shared with listeners of Good News Radio.Bishop Mazzolari stated that the Government of South Sudan will keep on relying on the Church to deliver education and health services to the population.
He said evangelization is the main activity of the Church involving all its members.
Bishop Mazzolari said the Church has a role in the formation of a solid spirit to develop moral potential and the sense of responsibility.
The Bishop of Rumbek encouraged all citizens to get involved in the building of their nation which he described as a field to be cultivated in a spirit of peace.
Bishop Mazzolari challenged the members of the Church to make their contribution towards a self-reliant, independent and sovereign nation.
The Government of South Sudan has on several occasions acknowledged with appreciation the role of the Church during the many years of war, citing the Church involvement in education, health and humanitarian assistance to the Sudanese people including those in the diaspora.
