GoSS minister for investments asserted that the current developments and growth in the South are accelerated by private sector.
Minister Oyay Deng noted in a press release that the government of Southern Sudan strongly recognizes the importance of private sector to creat job opportunities and delivery of critical services.Mr. Deng revealed that the private sector contributes to the government revenue outside of the oil revenue and that it should be supported.
The minister reiterated GoSS’ commitment to provide a conducive environment for businesses in Southern Sudan.
He underscored the importance of both foreign and local investors and promised that his ministry would not only improve the environment for foreign investors but would strongly support local investors especially medium, small and micro-enterprises.
The minister dismissed allegations that foreign investors needed to cede their capital to the local partners before starting their businesses in Southern Sudan.
