UPPER NILE GOVERNOR CONGRATULATES KIIR ON REFERENDUM RESULTS

The governor of Upper Nile congratulated the President of South Sudan on the referendum and its results.

Governor Simon Kun Puoch wrote a letter congratulating Salva Kiir and the people of South Sudan for the successful running of the referendum in which southerners overwhelming voted 99.57 percent for secession, Voice of Love reported.

Peter Lam Both, the state minister for information, presented the letter to the press.

The Governor recalled all who died in the war, and the disabled and their families, saying their sacrifices were not forgotten.

Mr. Kun said the people of South Sudan are strong and courageous to stand tall in the community of the nations.

He added that it was Mr. Kiir’s wise and genuine leadership that let the people of South Sudan to achieve the magnificent referendum results.
