The Kapoeta rural electricity project in Eastern Equatoria state has been completed and it is ready to generate energy.
The four-million US dollars project financed by USAID took two years to complete and will be inaugurated next week.USAID spokesman Richard Ruati told Emmanuel Radio that an advance team is already in Eastern Equatoria making preparations for the inauguration of the rural electrification project in Kapoeta.
He added that the inauguration takes place next Friday, February 4.
Mr. Ruati said the state governor invited the GoSS President to preside over the event that will be attended by many officials, including the US representative in Juba.
Mr. Ruati said USAID project targets to connect about 900 households to the Kapoeta line but the number could increase depending on the response and contributions from the community.
He added that USAID would give the power project management to the community not the government.
