Members of National Congress Party and other opposition parties in Lafon-Lopa agreed in a meeting before the referendum to take a single option of secession.
Lafon-Lopa County Commissioner, Caesar Oromo Urbano, revealed to Emmanuel Radio that opposition parties joined the southern parties in campaigning during the referendum to make the county get hundred per cent votes for separation.Mr. Oromo added that Lafon-Lopa County greatly supported the NCP and voted for NCP MPs but the people, including the area MP, opted for separation at the referendum.
Lafon-Lopa is the only county in Eastern Equatoria state that has unanimously voted for separation despite being populated by NCP supporters.
