Good News Radio is today marking one year since it started test broadcasting in Rumbek, the capital of Lakes State.

Fr. Don Bosco Ochieng, who directs the station, said Good News Radio has been at the service of both the local community and the Catholic diocese of Rumbek, helping enhance activities of the various departments of the diocese.

Fr. Ochieng also highlighted some of the challenges the radio station has faced in the last year, including the training of local staff, and sustainability in terms of funds and human resource.

He confessed that he is involved in many tasks at the station including the management of the station.

Speaking on behalf of the Bishop of Rumbek, Fr. Andrea Osman Okello, the Vicar General of the Diocese, expressed gratitude to the staff of Good News Radio.

He said the station was instrumental for evangelization and in the political situation of the country through civic education.

Good News Radio has a coverage of up to 150Km radius over most of Lakes State, and part of Warrap and Western Equatoria States.
