A senator in the national legislature said that he is very impressed with the conduct of the referendum and the vote was free and fair.

Clement Janda representing Central Equatoria State in the Council of States told Easter Radio that he was satisfied with the result of the referendum saying it was very fair and transparent.

He added that the massive vote for separation will ease his work in the national legislature.

Mr. Janda urged brothers in the North to accept the will of the people of the south although they preferred unity.

Mr. Janda appealed to the Northerners to create a good relationship with the Southerners adding that no one knows what the future holds for the nation.

The senator made this statement yesterday after the declaration of the preliminary results at the referendum subcommittee centre in Yei River County.
