The Sudanese Network for Democratic Elections (SuNDE) said the referendum has been smooth and peaceful.
SuNDE is a group of domestic observers monitoring the current referendum on self determination for the people of South Sudan. There was no critical violence experienced within the past polling days apart from minor incidents, says Manuela Kide, a SuNDE staff.
Edmund Yakani, another SuNDE official, assured the press that so far the network has agreed with the assessments made by other national and international observers.
This morning, the EU chief observer described the referendum as a major achievement.
