The registered voters in Western Bahr el Ghazal came in great numbers to the polling centres and by Tuesday more than two thirds had already participated in the ballot.
Wol Madut Chan, who chairs the Referendum High Committee for the state, told SCR News that by the end of the third day of voting the turnout in the state reached 67 percent.Mr. Madut said he visited 40 polling centres and there were no complaints from voters, staff or observers.
He added that the voting was smooth.
Mr. Madut praised residents for supporting polling staff and transporting people from distant places to vote together with the referendum taskforce.

Western Bahr el Ghazal State has 120 polling centres distributed in three counties: 53 in Wau, 21 in Raja, and 46 in Jur River.
More than 164 thousand people registered in the State.
