YEI WOMEN BEAT MEN AT POLLING CENTRES

Women in Yei River County have turned up for voting in numbers greater than men.

Sabala Moses, the chairperson of the polling centre at the Seventh Day Adventists, told Easter Radio that the number of women who cast their votes on Sunday in his centre was very encouraging.

Mr. Sabala said that women represented 70 percent of the total voters on the first day of polling.

Mr. Sabala added that the voting process in his centre was a success and the people were very happy and patiently waiting on the line to cast their votes.

Meanwhile Richard Baba Dada, the head of the voting centre at the African Inland Church, said in is centre the number of women was competing with the number of men too.

In Yei River County, 12,500 people voted in 18 polling centres on Sunday.
