Referendum polling officers commended the security scheme put in place at the voting centres in Juba.
Bakhita Radio talked to Juma Vuni, a polling officer at John Garang’s Mausoleum in Juba.Mr. Vuni said the referendum process was peaceful and the security personnel were helping to protect the polling centres.
Mary Juan Elia, who heads Lologo North voting centre, confirmed that the security personnel were doing good job in her place.
Ms. Juan revealed that police officers often calmed down voters who quarrelled with polling staff for one reason on the other.
Southerners are voting on the third day in a self determination referendum. The exercise is to end on Saturday.
