LAKES DOMESTIC OBSERVERS RECEIVE TRAINING

Lakes State local referendum observers concluded today a two-day workshop in Rumbek.

The training was organized by the Sudan Domestic Election Monitoring and Evaluation Program (SuDEMOP).

SuDEMOP State coordinator, Manyiel Wugol Manyiel, told Good News Radio that the observers came from all the eight counties of the State.

Mr. Wugol said the local observers will help ensuring that the outcome of the referendum is credible.

He added that the local observers will track incidences at the referendum centres, including intimidation and harassment.

Mr. Wugol urged the domestic observers to keep their code of conduct during the referendum and act professionally and with neutrality.

Lakes State has a total of 300,444 registered voters spread over the 214 referendum centres.
