Training for referendum centres staff on voting procedures started today in Tonj for Tonj South County.
Augustino Akoc Agoth, who leads the training team, told Don Bosco FM ninety four trainees from twenty eight centres in the county were attending the preparation.
Mr. Akoc added that they trainees were divided into two groups and the training took two days for each group.
He explained that the Referendum Subcommittee would pay for the dispatching of officials to their various centres after the training.
Goloria Nyidhel, one of the trainees, said she learned today the polling process and how to approach the voters during polling.
Taban Bol, himself a trainee too, said the polling staff were neutral in relation to the options on the vote.
He added that the staff would assist those with voter cards to exercise their right to self-determination.
Mr. Bol urged polling officials not to discourage voters.
