The Catholic Bishop of Rumbek appealed to Christians to give special attention to the needy within their community, especially the displaced people.

Bishop Caesar Mazzolari said in his Christmas message there were many displaced people in the communities in his diocese and urged the faithful to make their love of God visible by helping them, Good News Radio reported.

Bishop Mazzolari added that by visiting the displaced and bringing them what he described as a token of love, Christians manifested their love of God during the Christmas season.

The Bishop encouraged Christians to be people of good will, explaining that Jesus came to the world to create a new family of people concerned not only for their own good but also with the good of others.

Bishop Mazzolari said Sudan needed the contribution of its citizen to develop, urging the Christians to do their best to make Sudan a nation where people will be free and enjoy their unity, the love and the strength that comes from being a new people.
