The Catholic Archbishop of Juba said today that Christians this year celebrate a special Christmas because the feast takes place during a special time when Sudan’s history comes to fulfilment.

Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro presented today to the press his Christmas Message titled “Year 2010: A Special Year of God’s Blessings for the Archdiocese of Juba.”

Archbishop Lukudu said this year the Church celebrates Christmas during a special time for the country, the time when Jesus was born and Sudan is also being born.

Archbishop Lukudu argued that those who vote during the referendum should follow the will of God for the good of the Sudanese and the Christmas celebration provides a guiding light to achieve that goal.

Archbishop Lukudu urged officials and voters not to play games with the Referendum results because it would be against God’s plan and will.

The metropolitan of South Sudan added that Christmas is a great feast of joy and the beginning of the happiness that is brought to its fullness through Easter.
