Over 20 journalists were trained on gender sensitive referendum coverage in Juba to prepare for the upcoming vote.

The training is meant to enable women journalists to report skilfully during the seven days of the referendum voting, Bakhita Radio reported.

Regina Ossa Lulo is the Director General of GoSS Ministry of Gender, Child, and Social Welfare. She told the participants that accurate reporting during the referendum would save the society from misinformation.

Ms. Lulo explained that media could act as means of peace or of disorder.

The one-day training drew 22 journalists from different media houses in Juba. Sixteen were women.
