The US international aid agency financed the construction of a centre for traditional chiefs in an effort to control tribal violence in Warrap State.
Barrie Walkley, US consul general in Juba, told journalists that the inauguration took place on Monday in Kwajok.Mr. Walkley said the centre was a joint venture with the US supplying funds and locals building materials and labour.
Mr. Walkley added that the new centre will enable traditional chiefs to meet and settle disputes and come up with peaceful solutions for local tensions.
He added that the US government is supporting measures to prevent violence, including local chiefs.
South Sudan has undergone several tribal clashes in the past displacing thousands of people were displaced and killing many hundreds more.
