The referendum needs cleansing of hearts and minds from all iniquities of life to heal the wounds of the past, a church leader said.

Fr. Gabriel Asida Andrew is the parish priest of Saint Mary Immaculate parish in Terekeka. He told Bakhita Radio that the referendum is a decision that permanently secures a better future for generations to come.

Fr. Asida said the referendum vote requires the purification of hearts and minds through the celebration of Christmas.

Yesterday Saint Mary Immaculate parish celebrated its patron saint day. The event coincided with the end of registration for the referendum to be voted within 31 days.
