Officials in the North are forcing southerners to register by force or else they are denied their salaries.
Eastern Equatoria Speaker, Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi, told Emmanuel Radio that returnees who arrived recently in Torit said the NCP was forcing voter registration in the north in exchange for salaries.Speaker Ocholimoi said the issue has been reported to the state governor so that the government of Southern Sudan and the international community are informed.
About 200 citizens of Eastern Equatoria state from Northern Sudan were received amid jubilation by their relatives back home this week.
