A senior researcher conducted a survey among radio listeners in Tonj and Mapel after concluding a similar activity in Rumbek to assist local stations to offer better programmes.
Apuna Jacob Alfred works for BBC World Service Trust. He told Don Bosco FM that the survey included talking with various focus groups of listeners in order to know their opinion about the radio programmes and their needs and suggestions.Mr. Jacob said the survey would enable listeners to express their opinions about radio programmes.
He added that it assisted also local stations to produce programmes relevant for the local population.
Mr. Jacob added that the BBC World Service Trust conducts in house training for journalists.
The survey in Tonj and Rumbek was done in collaboration with Sudan Catholic Radio Network.
