The governor of Upper Nile said there is a high turnout for the referendum registration in the state.
Governor Simon Kun Puoch told the crowd at Malakal Cultural Theatre on Monday that most of the referendum centres in the state asked for more registration kits due to the high turnout for the registration, Voice of Love reported.Mr. Kun urged citizens in the state to register and vote as part of their voluntary struggle for the freedom of South Sudan.
He told the crowd to vote for a choice that will not betray them at any moment in their lives.
Mr. Kun told citizens to unite for the referendum and forget about the election differences.
He appealed to voters to use their wisdom and avoid violence during the upcoming referendum promising to provide security for a smooth referendum in the state.
Mr. Kun made these statements during a referendum campaign conducted by the South Sudan Youth Forum for Referendum under the theme Register and vote for separation.
