Christians from different church organizations including Presbyterians and Catholics met in Juba to prepare for a prayer mission dedicated to the referendum.
Fermo Ogila is the national director for Every Home for Christ South Sudan. He told SCR News that the aim of the two-day workshop that started today was to enable churches to mobilize for prayer and evangelization and effectively participate in the voter registration and voting processes.Mr. Ogila explained that the churches wanted to stand in solidarity with other Sudanese at this critical time.
He added that participants will study the biblical concepts on choice to guide them in deciding well in the referendum.
Mr. Ogila said some evangelical churches were afraid to talk about politics.
The workshop, organized by Every Home for Christ South Sudan, under the theme “A Vision for Sudan” concludes tomorrow.
