The Sudan Catholic Bishops Conference (SCBC) elected the new office bearers at the end of their week-long plenary assembly in Rumbek.Archbishop Gabriel Cardinal Zubeir Wako of Khartoum is the new SCBC president replacing Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak of Wau.
Bishop Arkolano Lodu Tombe of Yei is SCBC Vice President.
Bishop Eduard Hiiboro of Yambio chairs the Palica Commission while Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro of Juba maintains the Commission for Seminaries.
Bishop Caesar Mazzolari of Rumbek chairs the Commission for Priests and Religious and auxiliary bishop Daniel Adwok Kur of Khartoum is responsible for Aid and Development and Health and chairs the Finance Committee.
Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak of Wau took over the Education Department and co-adjutor bishop Michael Didi of El Obeid is the Chairman for Justice and Peace and for Social Communication departments.
Cardinal Zubeir and bishops Adwok and Hiibore form the Administrative Board.
