Eastern Equatoria governor reiterated his appeal to citizens to abide by the rule of law and observe the democratic rights of individuals during the referendum campaign.
Governor Louis Lobong Lojore stressed that people had the right to campaign for unity and separation in a conducive atmosphere, Emmanuel Radio reported.Mr. Lobong appealed to partners helping the government of Southern Sudan in the referendum process to transport registration materials in time.
Mr. Lobong also assured that state of security during the registration and referendum, adding that everybody would be protected, including advocates, observers and other officials on duty.
Mr. Lobong made these statements on Saturday in Torit at a rally to launch voter registration in the state.
