A civil society umbrella group is preparing personnel to disseminate information on the voter registration process for the referendum due to start within ten days.
Taban Silvio works for Sudanese Network for Democratic Elections (SuNDE) as policy and advocacy officer. He told SCRN that his network conducted already a master training for the coordinator group that will conduct workshops at state level.Mr. Taban added that trained staff will pass on information about the registration process at payam level.
SuNDE plans to deploy some 500 observers during the registration process and another 3000 to monitor the voting and counting process.
SuNDE is an umbrella network of some 75 civil society groups, including churches, and works with money from USAID through the National Democratic Institute.
