Southern Sudanese youth were urged to face the referendum peacefully and avoid plunging the country back to war.

The plea was made by the coordinator of All Palm Sudan, Anthony Bidal.

Mr. Bidal told Good News Radio that many Southern Sudanese youth were forced out of their homeland to live as refugees.

He urged the youth not to waste the referendum prospect describing it as “a golden opportunity that should not be messed with.”

Mr. Bidal explained that his organization targets the youth because they can be used to provoke chaos and violence.

He revealed that he is touring south Sudan with a band called Coozos Clan to preach the message of peace.

All Palm Sudan has so far covered Lakes, Eastern and Central Equatoria.

The group has also taken the peace message to Abyei, Blue Nile and Southern Kordofan.
