The Rumbek Branch of a Kenyan Bank donated learning material to a local school, including text books, exercise books, pencils and rubbers.

Kenyan Commercial Bank staff donated education material worth 1,250 US dollars to pupils of Tayau Primary School in Rumbek Central County.

Rumbek KCB branch Manager, Rogers Mwema, told Good News Radio that part of the revenue earned by the bank is re-channelled to the community.

He added that KCB so far supported two other schools in Rumbek Central County and promised to extend aid to other schools in Lakes State.

Mr. Mwema said KCB planned to reach out to the sick by offering medical care besides taking up environmental conservation activities like planting trees.

The tree-planting project was already initiated in partnership with Women for Women International in Rumbek East County.

KCB (Sudan) Limited has 11 branches in Southern Sudan. The financial institution is owned by Kenya Commercial Bank and it is part of the KCB Group, which includes KCB Kenya, KCB Tanzania, KCB Uganda Limited, KCB Rwanda and Savings and Loan Kenya.
