The 40 members who make up Lakes State Referendum Sub-Committees took oath of office yesterday before the Chairman of Southern Sudan Referendum Bureau, Chan Reec, in Rumbek.
Each county subcommittee has five individuals.Chairman Chan Reec congratulated Lakes State High Committee for being the first to submit the list of Referendum Centers.
Mr. Chan urged the State Committee to form the Referendum Centre Committees at each Referendum Centre until October 21.
He recommended that at least one of the three members should be a woman.
Mr. Chan gave the go-ahead to the formation of additional Referendum Centers in the State.
He said it was urgent to recruit people who will do the registration to be prepared though a crash program.
Mr. Chan said teachers should do the registration of voters to avoid spelling mistakes.
