Men were urged to protect their families and not leave to women alone the burden of taking care of their children.

Kajo-Keji County Commissioner, Muki Batali Bulli advised men to be responsible and assist women in feeding their children and taking care of their health and education.

Mr. Batali also urged parents to take part in the upcoming referendum on self-determination for South Sudan.

He explained that it would be a great offence to children if parents failed to exercise their civic rights and obligations to register and vote in the referendum.

Mr. Batali made this statement on Friday while celebrating International Peace Day at Mondikolo area, in Lire Payam.

On the same occasion, Lire Payam Director, Arkangelo Wani Venansio advised the people of Kajo-Keji to provide for the basic needs of their children, and avoid molesting and ill treating them under false pretexts.
