SPLA SOLDIERS NEED INTENSIVE AWARENESS ON CHILD SOLDIERS

Director for moral orientation in the Sudan peoples’ Liberation army SPLA said that SPLA soldiers need intensive sensitization to reduce child soldier increment in the Army.

Kuol Deim who is also the army spokesperson said today blamed poverty and peasant mentality fpr incresing the number of child soldiers in the army adding that intensive awareness to the SPLA soldiers is the only means to minimize enrolment of child soldiers.

Mr. Kuol revealed that the orphans with no access to shelter, school and good food came to the SPLA.

Mr. Kuol added that the child soldiers were made to serve in the army as servants to their bosses.
Kuol Diem was speaking at an opening of training for SPLA officers form the various military divisions geared to capacitate them on child protection.
